US Secretary of Treasury John Snow forecasts Russia’s accedence to WTO before G8 summit in July 2006

ST. PETERSBURG, June 10--RIA Novosti. US Secretary of Treasury, John Snow, forecasts that Russia will accede to the World Trade Organization before G8 summit in July 2006.

“We would like to see Russia as a WTO member. I believe that we are certainly approaching this. I hope this will take place in a month’s time, before the Group of Eight leaders meet. I forecast that it will be done.”

At the same time, he pointed out that a certain work was to be done in that direction.

According to him, the issue was discussed within the framework of today’s meeting with Russian finance minister, Alexei Kudrin.
